Everything you need to know about billing, cancellations, and order changes

At GobyMeds, we want to make the payment and ordering process as simple, transparent, and convenient as possible. Below, you’ll find detailed information on when you’ll be charged, how cancellations and address changes work, and what to expect regarding refunds and discount codes.

💰 When Will I Be Charged?

You will not be charged at the time you complete your medical intake form. You are only charged once a provider has reviewed your chart and officially prescribed your medication.

The Payment Process

  1. Pre-Authorization: When you place an order, a temporary hold may appear on your card. This is not a charge; it simply confirms your payment method is valid and has sufficient funds.

  2. Medical Review: Your provider reviews your intake.

  3. Official Charge: Once the provider approves and writes your prescription, the pre-authorization converts into an actual charge.

  4. Pharmacy Fulfillment: After the charge occurs, your prescription is sent to the pharmacy. It typically takes 24–48 hours from this point for your medication to be prepared and shipped.

NOTE: You will receive a confirmation email and receipt as soon as your payment is processed.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why do I see a charge on my card immediately after placing an order?

What you are seeing is a pre-authorization hold, not a final charge. This ensures your order can move quickly once approved. If your prescription is not approved or your order is canceled before being sent to the pharmacy, this hold will be released by your bank.

How long does the hold last?

Standard banking practice typically holds these funds for about 7 days. If there is an extended delay in your medical review (such as needing to provide extra information to our team), the hold may drop off. Don't worry—if this happens, we will re-authorize the payment manually once the prescription is written so your order isn't delayed.

❌ Can I Cancel My Order?

It depends on where your order is in the process.

  • If your prescription has not yet been sent to the pharmacy, you may be able to cancel your order.

  • Once a prescription has been sent to or compounded by the pharmacy, it cannot be canceled or refunded, as it is considered a custom medication prepared specifically for you.

To request a cancellation:

  • Contact the Customer Support team via the chat bubble on our website as soon as possible.

  • Include your full name, order number, and reason for cancellation so our team can review your request quickly.

⚠️ Note: Because compounded medications are custom-made to order, GobyMeds follows strict FDA regulations that prohibit returns or cancellations once the compounding process has begun.

🚚 Can I Change My Shipping Address?

Yes — as long as your order has not yet shipped.

If you need to update your address:

  • Contact our Customer Support team via chat immediately.

  • Provide your order number and new address so we can update the pharmacy before shipping.

Once an order has shipped, we are unable to change the address. If you realize there’s an error after shipment, our Customer Support team can help you track the package and coordinate with the carrier if needed.

💳 What Forms of Payment Are Accepted?

GobyMeds accepts:

  • All major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover).

  • HSA (Health Savings Account) or FSA (Flexible Spending Account) cards if they are Mastercard-branded.

At this time, GobyMeds does not bill insurance directly.

💡 Why? Because we work with compounding pharmacies, medications are priced transparently and billed directly to patients at a fixed rate — often at a lower cost than insurance copays or retail pricing.

🏥 Can I Use My HSA/FSA?

Yes! GobyMeds purchases are qualified medical expenses under HSA/FSA guidelines.

If your HSA/FSA provider requires documentation, we can provide a Letter of Medical Necessity upon request.

Simply contact Customer Support and include:

  • Your name and order number

  • The name of your HSA/FSA administrator

Our team will email you a signed letter for your records.

💡 Tip: Always check with your HSA/FSA provider for specific coverage rules, as requirements can vary between administrators.

Can I Get a Refund?

Unfortunately, no.

Due to FDA regulations, all prescriptions are final sale and non-refundable once they are prescribed and shipped.

  • Compounded medications are custom-formulated for each individual patient, which means they cannot be restocked, reused, or returned to inventory.

  • This policy applies even if you decide not to use the medication after receiving it.

If your order arrives damaged, incorrect, or missing an item, contact our Customer Support team immediately. We will review your case and coordinate with the pharmacy to resolve any fulfillment errors promptly.

Do You Offer Discount Codes?

Yes! GobyMeds occasionally offers promotional discount codes for select medications or bundle plans.

  • If you have a valid discount code but it isn’t working during checkout, reach out to our support team for assistance.

  • To view active promotions, click here or watch for email updates announcing new offers.

⚠️ Note: Discounts cannot be applied retroactively to completed or shipped orders.

Transparency Promise

At GobyMeds, transparency is a cornerstone of how we operate.

  • All medication pricing is listed clearly on our website with no hidden fees or surprise charges.

  • You will always know your total cost before your card is charged.

  • Shipping, provider consultations, and medication costs are bundled into your quoted price unless otherwise noted.

Thank you for choosing GobyMeds.
Our goal is to make every part of your care experience — from consultation to checkout — simple, transparent, and trustworthy.

If you have questions about billing, orders, or refunds, our Customer Support team is here to help through the chat bubble on our website or your Patient Portal.
